Senior Energy Modeller, P.Eng.

Key Responsibilities
Energy Modelling & Analysis: Lead the development and optimization of detailed energy models using tools like eQUEST and IESVE.
Project Management: Oversee multiple energy modeling projects from initiation through completion, meeting timelines, budgets, and technical standards. Manage resources and allocate tasks to team members efficiently.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of engineers, analysts, and junior modellers, ensuring continuous professional development and high-quality performance.
Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients with regular project progress, findings, and recommendations. Develop strong relationships with clients to understand their needs.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical oversight to ensure energy modelling projects comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NECB, ASHRAE, ZCB, LEED etc).
Performance Reporting: Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations, translating energy data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, drafting proposals, and supporting client acquisition and retention.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest energy modeling software, industry regulations, and energy trends. Propose new methodologies and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in modeling.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Minimum 5+ years of experience in energy modeling, building energy simulations, or a similar role within the energy sector.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC and/or APEGA. 3+ years experience as a Professional Engineer is preferred.
Proficiency in energy simulation software (e.g., eQUEST, IESVE, etc.).
Advanced knowledge of energy systems, energy efficiency measures, and renewable energy technologies.
Expertise in industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., NECB, ASHRAE, ZCB, LEED or other relevant energy and sustainability standards).
Proven experience managing teams, leading projects, and delivering high-quality results under deadlines.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to manage client relationships, contribute to proposals, and support business development.
Skills and Competencies
Well grounded in energy modelling, analysis, and report writing
Technical knowledge in building science a definite asset
Ability to review designs, drawings, specification, and technical memoranda
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments
Good ability to shift focus between changing priorities and balance day to day project work (with immediate deadlines) with long term project work (longer term deadlines)

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
